There is something really special about baby gifts for an entire family. The arrival of a newborn child becomes a reason for celebration for everyone in a household. The best way to celebrate the birth of a child is by gifting personalized gifts such as bibs, kids wall art, blankets, jumpers, growth charts or even baby jewelry. For toddlers, the best gifts would ideally be toddlers’ books. This is because these children belong to their formative years and books can be great stimulants for their overall mental and psychological growth and development. Books are always appreciated and respected by parents. If you wish to gift something to toddlers, then special books meant for them will be the most useful. Before that, you must know more about these specialized books.

Toddlers’ books are available in wide selections. Most of them are popular for their promotion of memory and vocabulary, stimulating verbal ability, and even enhancing the relationship between the child and the parent. This is because the child develops a strong bond towards the person who reads out to him or her. Gradually children develop a fascination for reading and learn to read independently. For gifting any toddler such books, you will find a wide range of durable, attractive and safe books available. Baby gifts are categorized mainly in terms of the age of the child or the occasion that is being celebrated. Some of these occasions typically include baby showers, birth of a newborn child, the child’s first birthday and subsequent birthdays.

For baby showers, where you will be required to give baby gifts to the expecting mother, you must make a choice in terms of the gift’s utility. The most appropriate and appreciated gifts for such occasions are baby suits, baby blankets, baby baskets having many baby products, cribs and bouncers. On the other hand, while making a selection for toddlers’ books that you wish to gift, you must keep in mind that such children usually prefer to see books that have big and colorful pictures and enjoy hearing sounds related to the pictures. These children also prefer to turn the pages on their own. Their attention span is rather short and vocabularies are somewhat limited. Thus, you must select books that consider all these factors.

For gifting the best toddlers’ books, you can ensure that they suit the child’s preferences by simply making the correct selection in terms of the material and content. For instance, for toddlers who are very young, you can look for books with a hard cover, rounded corner page, light weighted, easy for turning pages, easy to wipe or clean, large sized page and indestructible material such as cloth books and board books. It should have good rhymes and simple texts, should be able to produce some relevant sounds, more pictures than written material, lesser number of pages and should have bright and colorful pictures of simple and familiar objects.

In terms of baby gifts for children over a year, you have better and greater options. These include learning toys, baby pillows, walkers, bath toys, swings, baby slings and baby toys other than toddlers books. Apart from these you can also personalize and customize baby baskets to incorporate a host of gift items. Other gifts for younger babies could include feeding bottle kits, alphabetical curios, teething kits and fairytale figurines.

Salon produces video on a better haircutting experience for children suffering from autism

Natick, MA, June 15, 2009 — Snip-its (www.snipits.com), the fastest growing franchise of children’s hair salons in the U.S., is very proud to announce a partnership with the non-profit organization Autism Speaks. This partnership has produced the publication of a nine-page “Haircutting Training Guide” booklet as well as a “Tips For Successful Haircuts” video, which gives both parents as well as Snip-its stylists tips on how to give autistic children a wonderful haircutting experience. A digital version of the “Haircutting Training Guide” booklet and a copy of the video are currently featured on the “Family Services-Community Connections” page of the Autismspeaks.org Web site.

“We are very proud that we can work in conjunction with a great non-profit charity like Autism Speaks,” says Christine Mudd, director of franchise development for Snip-its. “We hope that our booklet and video can help families give children with autism a better experience in the salon.”

The “Haircutting Training Guide” is an easy to read, nine page booklet which was created by Snip-its in conjunction with Autism Speaks and Melmark New England. The booklet outlines tips for both stylists and parents on how to best make haircuts a easy and stress free experience for children suffering from autism and gives stylists tips on how to speak and interact with these children while giving a haircut. The booklet also features a large section of tips for parents on how to alert management and stylists to your child’s individual needs pre-haircut and how to make their child comfortable throughout their haircutting experience.

The “Hair Cutting Tips for Children with Autism” video puts the tips outlined in the “Haircutting Training Guide” booklet into an easy to follow video format. At Snip-its we take pride in giving children the best haircut, and the best experience possible. While a haircut involving a child with autism might be a bit more challenging, by following a few simple steps, we can assure both the child and the parent that they will experience a quick and enjoyable haircutting experience.

Autism is a complex neurological disorder that typically lasts throughout a person’s lifetime and effects 1 in 150 individuals. This makes autism more common than pediatric cancer, diabetes and AIDS combined. Autism knows no racial, ethnic or social lines and affects four times as many boys as it does girls. It impairs a person’s ability to communicate and relate to others and is associated with rigid routines and repetitive behavior. Symptoms can range from very mild to severe and while steps can be taken to make a autistic child more comfortable in society, no known cure is available at this time.

WOBURN, MA – June 5, 2009 – Daimer Industries, a leading manufacturer and distributor of commercial cleaning products, announced availability of the KleenJet® 300CS, which features self-regulating continuous refill, high-performance, and more than a dozen cleaning tools.

“KleenJet® 300CS steam cleaners are our most affordable machine with continuous refill capabilities,” said Matthew Baratta, Daimer.com spokesman. “These units are ideal for residential and commercial applications.”

Steam Cleaner Features

The KleenJet® Pro Plus 300CS steam cleaners expands on the existing Pro Plus line by adding a two-liter continuous refill tank. To refill the machine, the operator adds water to this non-pressurized chamber. Due to Daimer’s design, neither the water temperature nor the pressure declines during a refill, a problem that can affect other manufacturers’ continuous refill steam cleaners. The machines include a two-liter boiler, which combined with the two-liter refill tank, yields a total capacity of four liters.

The 300CS steam cleaners generate pressure levels of up to 75 psi. A variable pressure dial lets operators adjust the pressure depending on the needs of the job. The machines provide steam temperatures of up to 310 ºF.

For longevity and low-maintenance, the steam cleaners include a replaceable heating element technology that allows customers to have a single low-cost heating rod replaced instead of a costly boiler.

Attachments and Extras

The steam cleaner includes a variety of attachments and tools, such as: a 10-foot detachable steam hose, heavy duty extension rods, a steam squeegee for mirrors and windows, and assortments of brushes. Daimer charges as little as $2.50 for detail brushes that some competitors charge as much as $20 for.

Snip-Its children’s hair salon makes the cut during economic downturns

Natick, MASS, May 28, 2009 — Snip-its the fastest growing franchise of children’s hair salons in the U.S., also is one of the most successful businesses during a recession. In a slowing economy, consumers spend less on services they deem unnecessary. Along with child care, dry cleaners, automotive repair and storage units, the children’s hair salon provides a needed service that consumers are unlikely to forgo.

“When consumers tighten their wallets, they tend to spend their money more selectively, for example, refurbishing instead of buying new, so dry cleaners and repair shops tend to do well,” said Christine Mudd, director of franchise development, Snip-Its. “Do-it-yourself children’s hair cuts can be a down right exhausting and anxiety-filled experience, and the cost of salon haircut designed just for kids, is worth trading in the frustration of trying to do it at home.”

Snip-its’ no-tears haircut experience is weaved with vibrant colors and reminds many children of a Saturday morning cartoon. The salon interior features a cast of Snip-its own branded animated cartoon characters: Snips, Jean Luc le Spritz, Curly Comb, Flyer Joe Dryer, the Clip-ette Sisters, and Maranga Mirror plus animated videos, salon-tailored educational computer games and ‘cushy’ parents chairs so Moms can sit nearby. At the end of each visit, children receive a prize in exchange for a lock of hair from the ‘Magic Box.’

Even in tough times, important factors for new businesses remain the same: selecting a service that is needed and will weather fluctuations in the economy, choosing a reputable franchise, and as always, location. Doing some research before deciding on the above criteria is critical to the process. Spending less on start up costs may not ensure success, so be wary and stick to the old adage “if it’s too good to be true…” move on.

Snip-its, a growing
kids franchise was founded in 1995 by California native, Joanna Meiseles, the daughter of Hollywood producer, Robert Blumofe credited with the movie, Yours, Mine and Ours and is the granddaughter of famed comedian Jack Benny. After a heartbreaking visit to an ‘adult’ salon with her then young son, the first-time entrepreneur established the entertainment-styled salon with the goal to make children’s hair care a positive fun-filled adventure for families. Entrepreneurs that relate to this scenario may wish to learn more about opening a Snip-its store.

The Snip-its Corporation, based in Natick, Massachusetts is designed to untangle the hair care challenges of children and their parents. It provides the best customer service and a guaranteed great time for both kids and parents. The
