One Plus One Events, just opened in Chicago, offers scavenger hunt events to help companies build teams or to better market products.

Chicago, IL, October 01, 2009 — One Plus One Events, just opened in Chicago, offers scavenger hunt events to help companies build teams or to better market products. One Plus One Events is hosting a launch party on October 14 to celebrate the official commencement of business. Registration for the party is available on the company’s web site, www.oneplusoneevents.com.

Team building scavenger hunts are appropriate either for corporate groups or for smaller businesses competing against each other. These two- to four-hour hunts take place in and out of Chicago venues, the locations strategically themed to match a company’s products or goals. Teams follow clues, and at each prearranged venue, pose for team pictures, acquire next clues, and strategize to determine how to maximize points within the allocated time.

Jane Goldfine, Vice President and Lead Career Management Consultant at a global Human Resources consulting firm, commented about a team building event her company participated in at the Oak Brook Mall. “This event far exceeded my expectations. This has been a staff favorite and allowed us to work together in a way that took us out of our comfort zones and roles at work. Teams were created based on cross-functional areas and provided the opportunity to increase camaraderie and spirit across the entire organization. A definite success on all fronts.”

Marketing scavenger hunts benefit stores that are part of the scavenger hunt, and are open to participation by the general public. This option is attractive to chambers of commerce, shopping mall communities, and other organizations looking for unique ways to market merchants. Exposure and extra foot traffic are bonuses for the stores involved. Greg O’Neill, co-owner of Pastoral Artisan Cheese, Bread and Wine in Chicago says, “Having scavenger hunt teams come scrambling in to get their pictures taken and to find their next clue is as fun for us as being in the actual scavenger hunt.”

The name One Plus One comes from the concept that the whole is greater than the individual parts. The answer for Chicago: 1 plus 1 < 2.

One Plus One Events is headquartered in Chicago, IL. The company specializes in scavenger hunts for the purposes of team building events for businesses and unique marketing solutions for merchants. Scavenger hunts can be customized for most Chicagoland neighborhoods including the Loop, the Magnificent Mile and the Oak Brook mall. For additional information, find One Plus One on the web at www.oneplusoneevents.com or call the company at 773.860.4361.

There is something really special about baby gifts for an entire family. The arrival of a newborn child becomes a reason for celebration for everyone in a household. The best way to celebrate the birth of a child is by gifting personalized gifts such as bibs, kids wall art, blankets, jumpers, growth charts or even baby jewelry. For toddlers, the best gifts would ideally be toddlers’ books. This is because these children belong to their formative years and books can be great stimulants for their overall mental and psychological growth and development. Books are always appreciated and respected by parents. If you wish to gift something to toddlers, then special books meant for them will be the most useful. Before that, you must know more about these specialized books.

Toddlers’ books are available in wide selections. Most of them are popular for their promotion of memory and vocabulary, stimulating verbal ability, and even enhancing the relationship between the child and the parent. This is because the child develops a strong bond towards the person who reads out to him or her. Gradually children develop a fascination for reading and learn to read independently. For gifting any toddler such books, you will find a wide range of durable, attractive and safe books available. Baby gifts are categorized mainly in terms of the age of the child or the occasion that is being celebrated. Some of these occasions typically include baby showers, birth of a newborn child, the child’s first birthday and subsequent birthdays.

For baby showers, where you will be required to give baby gifts to the expecting mother, you must make a choice in terms of the gift’s utility. The most appropriate and appreciated gifts for such occasions are baby suits, baby blankets, baby baskets having many baby products, cribs and bouncers. On the other hand, while making a selection for toddlers’ books that you wish to gift, you must keep in mind that such children usually prefer to see books that have big and colorful pictures and enjoy hearing sounds related to the pictures. These children also prefer to turn the pages on their own. Their attention span is rather short and vocabularies are somewhat limited. Thus, you must select books that consider all these factors.

For gifting the best toddlers’ books, you can ensure that they suit the child’s preferences by simply making the correct selection in terms of the material and content. For instance, for toddlers who are very young, you can look for books with a hard cover, rounded corner page, light weighted, easy for turning pages, easy to wipe or clean, large sized page and indestructible material such as cloth books and board books. It should have good rhymes and simple texts, should be able to produce some relevant sounds, more pictures than written material, lesser number of pages and should have bright and colorful pictures of simple and familiar objects.

In terms of baby gifts for children over a year, you have better and greater options. These include learning toys, baby pillows, walkers, bath toys, swings, baby slings and baby toys other than toddlers books. Apart from these you can also personalize and customize baby baskets to incorporate a host of gift items. Other gifts for younger babies could include feeding bottle kits, alphabetical curios, teething kits and fairytale figurines.

Glass America offers a complete line of auto glass repair and replacement services for all years, makes and models, foreign and domestic, commercial or passenger vehicles.

Chicago, June 04, 2009 — The Board of Directors of the Auto Glass Replacement Safety Standards Council (AGRSS) Inc. elected David Rohlfing, president of Glass America, to serve as vice president/president-elect during its spring meeting in Charlottesville, VA. With headquarters in Chicago, Glass America is one of the largest independently-owned automobile glass replacement and repair companies in the country.

“I am very honored to be selected as the vice president of the AGRSS Council and a member ofthe Board of Directors,” says Rohlfing. “There are many dedicated companies and individuals who have worked very hard to promote AGRSS over the years and I look forward to working with all of them.”

He adds, “AGRSS and the upcoming validation process are critical to our industry and can benefit every auto glass shop, regardless of membership. I urge all retailers who have not yet registered with AGRSS to do so and put their energy into supporting the Standard and keeping consumers safe across the country.”

Rohlfing got his start in the industry in 1972 as an auto glass installer in Florida. He held numerous positions there, including store manager and sales representative, before taking over the business. Throughout the years, he has gone on to work with a variety of auto glass companies including Windshields America. In 2004, he joined with several investors to purchase Glass America and today serves as president and chief executive officer of the Chicago-based company. Glass America has locations in 22 states.

About Glass America
Founded in 1999 and headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, Glass America is one of the largest independently-owned automobile glass replacement and repair companies in the country.
