Kitchener, Ontario, October 09, 2009 — When a bomb scare in Toronto triggered an emergency evacuation, David Merkley activated his GIS Emergency Locator Application to ensure that high risk residents were assisted through the evacuation. As Regional Manager, Decision Support at Central East Community Care Access Centre (Central East CCAC), Merkley developed an application linking their ESRI GIS (Geographic Information System) system to client information in their business intelligence system using a solution by APOS Systems Inc., a leading provider of SAP® BusinessObjects™ solutions.

Central East CCAC is one of 14 local CCAC organizations across Ontario that coordinates community health care. Funded and legislated by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, the Central East CCAC provides and connects people to in-home health care, long-term care homes, and other services in the local community.

While local police were going door to door evacuating residents, Central East CCAC was able to give police details about their high risk clients, to assist the police in their evacuation. “In an emergency situation, we need to plot all of our active clients on a map and find out which of our clients are in the affected area. We need to identify the most vulnerable clients in that situation so that we can attend to them first, and then of course, attend to everyone else,” explained Merkley. “There are some situations where we have clients who depend on electrical devices, for example devices to assist with breathing, clients who are deaf and would not hear the police knocking, or clients with mobility problems. In these cases, we can provide this information to first responders or request ambulances for our most vulnerable clients, so that they can be taken to hospital.”

Location intelligence combines geographical information with business intelligence to leverage spatial data with reporting and analytical capabilities. The APOS Integration Kit for ESRI GIS bridges two industry-leading business intelligence solutions, ESRI GIS and SAP BusinessObjects.

The process was very tedious and lengthy, taking hours to accomplish. There was also the risk of human error, of not being able to track everyone, and someone being left unattended to. Instead, Central East CCAC is able to access and provide crucial live data in an emergency situation in less than 30 minutes, and safeguard their clients’ wellbeing.

(TSX-V:PM) (“Prism”) today announced that it has completed the acquisition of a UK supplier of moving and handling services for the mobility impaired effective June 30, 2009. The acquisition cost was $1.4m which was satisfied by a cash payment of $0.6m and deferred payments in the amount $0.8m. The deferred payments are repayable over 3 years together with interest at 7% over a term of 3 years.

The company services and maintains a wide variety of equipment including ceiling lifts, baths and beds into both long term care and acute care facilities.

The former owner and key management of the distributor have entered into employment contracts and will continue to be responsible for the day to day operations.

Vaughan, Ontario, July 30, 2009 — Prism Medical Ltd. (“Prism” or “the Company”) (PM:TSX-VEN) today announced its results for the second quarter ended May 31, 2009.

Net income for the second quarter of 2009 increased to $1.271 million ($0.18 per share on a diluted basis) versus $1.010 million ($0.15 per share on a diluted basis) for the same period in 2008.

During the second quarter of 2009, revenues were $17.3 million compared to $12.6 million in 2008, an increase of 37%, driven by an increase in sales within the United States. The Company continues to focus its efforts on the US marketplace by increasing the number of sales representatives. In the UK, sales increased 12% after incorporating the impact of a decline in the British Pound Sterling (GBP) relative to the Canadian dollar.

In the second quarter of 2009, gross profit increased $1,963 (35%) over the same period in 2008 driven by the sales increase and higher percentage of sales made by the Company owned network of dealers and direct sales staff.

Earnings per share on a diluted basis for the three months ended May 31, 2009 of $0.18 per share represents an increase of 20% over the same period last year.

Vaughan, ON, July 31, 2009 — Prism Medical Ltd. (“Prism”) (PM:TSX-VEN) announced today that it intends to conduct a non-brokered private placement of common shares in the amount of up to $3,000,000 at a price of $6.00 per share. The proceeds of the offering will be used to fund strategic acquisitions, retire outstanding funded debt and general operations.

The offering will be extended to directors, senior executives, employees and consultants of Prism and its subsidiaries in order to further its objectives of encouraging share ownership by these individuals and aligning their interests as a group and with the company. These individuals may borrow all or a part of the subscription funds from HSBC Bank Canada or a related entity on normal banking terms. Prism has agreed to guarantee these borrowings in order to facilitate the subscriptions. The offering is considered to be a “related party” transaction for the purposes of Multilateral Instrument 61-101 – Protection of Minority Securityholders in Special Transactions (the “Regulation”).

The offering is exempt from the formal valuation and majority of the minority shareholders approval set out in the Regulation since at the time the transaction was agreed to, neither the fair market value of the subject matter of, nor the fair market value of the consideration for, the transaction, insofar as it involves interested parties, exceeds 25% of the issuer’s market capitalization in accordance with Sections 5.5 and 5.7 of the Regulation.

It is anticipated that approximately 400,000 common shares in the capital of Prism will be issued which represents approximately 7.2% of the issued shares in the capital of Prism after completion of the offering. Proceeds will be payable to Prism and existing shareholders will experience dilution.

The subscribers under the offering who are “interested parties” as defined in the Regulation include certain directors and senior officers of Prism or its subsidiaries. It is anticipated that these individuals will purchase 300,000 common shares in the capital of Prism under the offering which represents approximately 75% of the offered shares and 5.4% of the issued shares in the capital of Prism after completion of the offering.
