NEW YORK, NY–(Marketwire – 10/05/10) – Terra Energy & Resource Technologies, Inc. (OTC.BB:TEGR), a natural resource exploration technology company, is expanding its oil and gas and other minerals exploration services offering to India by signing a market partner agreement with Saturn Energy Solutions for Oil & Gas (Saturn), a geological and geophysical consulting firm in India. The contract sets forth a market partner framework between the companies, granting Saturn certain rights in connection with the sales and marketing of Terra exploration services in India.

“We started using the market partner strategy last year and we now have agreements for areas on several continents. Through our South American and South Asian partners, this year we have obtained or carried out service contracts in Argentina, Cambodia, and Indonesia. Our partners helped us to establish many key relationships and to advance with numerous sales prospects and negotiations, creating a significant business pipeline for Terra,” said Dr. Alexandre Agaian, President of Terra Energy & Resource Technologies.

Dr. Agaian noted that India is a well-established oil and gas exploration and production country, also stating: “Saturn is not just a business development firm, but a multi-service geophysical and geological consulting company with insight into the Indian oil and gas exploration industry and related services landscape. Saturn’s impressive team consists of seasoned geoscientists and engineers. We are encouraged by this new market partner relationship, extending the Terra service offering into India.”

A new initiative could help manufacturers in the North East to unlock thousands of pounds in cost savings and completely change their approach to the way they deal with waste.

Rethink Waste has been launched by sustainability experts Envirowise with support from manufacturers’ organisation EEF and will help companies discover the ‘true’ cost of waste to their business.

For example, Envirowise experience has shown that manufacturers taking action to reduce waste and improve their resource efficiency can save up to £1,000 per employee. Across the UK, around £500 million could be saved annually.

Companies can register at envirowise.gov.uk/rethink from October 2009 and the course begins early in 2010. Three advice-packed online modules will take businesses through the key steps of collecting benchmarking data, developing an action plan and then implementing a waste saving strategy. Participants will also have access to a virtual factory tour, audiocasts and an online resource efficiency conference.

Envirowise Regional Manager for the North East, Guy Bashford, said: “While many UK manufacturers have enthusiastically adopted recycling measures , there are more opportunities to reduce and re-use materials as well – actions that could substantially benefit their bottom line. With landfill tax set to rise to £48 per tonne in 2010/2011 the economic imperative to minimise waste at every opportunity is clear.”

John Herbert, Health, Safety, Climate and Environment Leader for EEF in the North East adds: “As outlined in EEF’s recent ‘Manufacturing Our Future’ report, climate change is a long-term challenge that manufacturers will need to face if they are to survive and thrive. We welcome additional government support to help the sector get the best from its resources. Free online tools such as Rethink Waste offer a practical and accessible route to resource efficiency and we will be encouraging our members to take part.”

Manufacturers can register for Rethink Waste before 31 December 2009. Registrations can be made at envirowise.gov.uk/rethink.

WOBURN, MA – October 09, 2009 – Daimer Industries, Inc.®, a major supplier and worldwide exporter of cleaning equipment and green cleaning products, announced Eco-Green® Concrete & Stone Sealer, a fast-acting, all-natural concrete sealer that forms a protective coating for highly trafficked stone surfaces.

“This is one of the first concrete sealers that uses no harmful metallic binders and produces no noxious, dangerous fumes,” said Daimer.com spokesperson Matthew Baratta. “This is one of our top sellers in buildings and other busy establishments.”

Daimer®’s extensive Eco-Green® line of green chemicals and green cleaner includes more than 100 products and formulations. Derived from plants and vegetables without any ozone-depleting substances, synthetics or harmful volatile organic compounds (VOCs), Eco-Green® formulations are readily biodegradable. The green chemicals biodegrade by more than 90% within 28 days, or about 50% faster than most competitors, according to testing performed by an internationally known laboratory. The green clean products are also safe to use and clean with a high level of safety as evidenced by all zero values on the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) hazard diamond.

The stone and concrete sealer features Daimer®’s unique Micro-Blasting® technology, which uses nano-based particles, 1/80,000 the thickness of human hair. These tiny, natural cleaning particles bond with surfaces and form an invisible, protective layer.

The concrete floor sealer dries to a vibrant shine and protects a variety of stones surfaces, including: concrete, cement or stone sidewalks, walkways, and floors, while locking out moisture. The concrete sealing formula enhances color, prevents staining, and protects against: efflorescence buildup, oil, grease, carbons, algae, mold, mildew, rust, salt, corrosion, traffic wear and tracking. In addition, surfaces sealed with the product, resists damage from scuffs and scratches and react well to conventional buffing or high speed burnishing.

New Line of Green Chemicals

The final details of the Government’s scheme to save organisations money on fuel bills and to reduce carbon emissions have been unveiled today by the Department of Energy and Climate Change.

The Carbon Reduction Commitment Energy Efficiency Scheme is a new regulatory incentive to improve energy efficiency in large public and private sector organisations. Large energy users in business and the public sector will be required to take part in the scheme from 1st April 2010.

Following extensive consultation with businesses and trade bodies, DECC has made some improvements to the scheme:

To smooth the introduction of the scheme and to help ease the upfront costs, organisations will only have to report emissions in the first year (2010/11). In subsequent years organisations will have to buy allowances corresponding to their emissions from energy use, and then surrender them by the end of the year.

In the second year (2011/12) extra weighting will be given to organisations which take action early to improve energy efficiency.

Recognition will be given to organisations which use onsite renewable energy like wind turbines or solar panels by publishing the increased carbon savings from such measures.

Organisations will be given greater flexibility in how they participate. Subsidiaries who are large enough to qualify in own right (at least 6000MWh) may opt to do so separately from their organisational group.

Given the primary focus of the scheme is energy efficiency, the CRC will now be known as CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme.

Energy and Climate Change Minister Joan Ruddock said:

“The UK is leading the way in tackling climate change and in the move to a low carbon economy. Organisations and the public sector must play a central role including all government departments, regardless of size.

“Large organisations have huge potential to achieve cost-effective energy efficiency savings. There are clear benefits from positive, immediate action to tackle climate change. Investment that takes place in the next few decades will have a profound effect on the climate in the second half of this century and in the next.

“The CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme will help organisations to become more energy efficient, to save significant sums of money on fuel bills, and to show customers, clients and competitors that their organisation is a leader in tackling climate change.”

The CRC will help to ensure that large organisations play their full role in contributing to our emissions reductions of at least 34% on 1990 levels by 2020 through improved energy efficiency.

The scheme is mandatory and will save participants around £1billion per year by 2020 through cost effective energy efficiency measures that are not yet being taken up.

By 2020 the scheme is expected to have delivered emissions savings of at least 4.4 Mt CO2 per year.

The scheme will target organisations whose annual half hourly metered (HHM) electricity use is at least 6,000 Megawatt hours (MWh) will qualify for the scheme – typically those that spend £0.5 million a year on electricity. The Environment Agency will publish the qualification and registration guidance for potential CRC participants by November.

The basic timeline for CRC remains;

First phase – The three year ‘Introductory Phase’ starts in April 2010. An unlimited number of allowances will be available at a fixed price of £12/tCO2. From the second compliance year onwards, participants will annually have to purchase allowances, monitor energy use, report emissions and surrender allowances. Participants will also receive a revenue recycling payment each year.

Phase 2 –From 2013 Government will cap the number of allowances available each year and all allowances will be auctioned. The cap will be set taking into account advice from the Committee on Climate Change which they will provide in 2010.

Portsmouth, UK, September 25, 2009 — Global warming, climate change, the erosion of the ozone layer, acid rain – we only ever seem to hear apocalyptic things about the environment. And it is certainly true that we are putting the Earth under huge strain.

But every cloud – even a polluting one – has a silver lining. The threat to the planet has brought out the very best in many of us. People have become passionate about trying to prevent and reverse damage.

All over the world, organisations have been formed to combat the threat. They range from small church and community groups to global charities, all working in various areas of environmental control and improvement. Without them, we would all be a lot worse off.

Each and every one of us can get involved. Perhaps you’d like to join in? If so, you could try logging on to do-it.org.uk – a web site which is there to help people get involved with local volunteering opportunities in their area.

There’s a particular reason to join the campaigns run by environmental charities right now. Honda, the car giant, has teamed up with do-it.org.uk in order to step up the battle to save the planet. Honda is passionate about doing what it can to help causes supporting the environment.

It has recently launched a new model, the Insight hybrid, which uses a combination of a petrol engine and a battery to dramatically improve fuel consumption and cut CO2 emissions.

If you want to try the new Insight, then you’ll be helping the planet in more ways than one. Firstly, you’ll be taking a ride in a car which is at the very leading edge of environmental technology. And secondly, each Honda dealership has nominated a charity, and for every person who takes a test drive in the Insight, they’ll donate £5 to that nominated charity.

Dealers across the UK have picked a wide range of environmental causes to back. But the biggest beneficiary has been BTCV, the UK’s leading green volunteering charity. It has the world’s largest team of green volunteers operating throughout Britain and in 26 countries, and has inspired 300,000 people to look after more than 50,000 places.

A vice president of the charity – celebrating its 50th anniversary this year – is Sir David Attenborough. He says: “Volunteering with BTCV brings together people from all walks of life and gives them a common purpose – to learn about, to understand and to become part of the natural world.

“They volunteer not just because they want to bring about change to their local environment, but because it’s fun – it gets you outdoors, it makes you fit and you’re learning something new all the time.”

And Janet Ford, BTCV’s senior corporate partnerships manager, says: “Every donation BTCV receives via Honda dealerships will provide the vital funds that enable us to work with volunteers in giving them the opportunity to make a difference to their local environment.”

Other environmental organisations around the country which are being supported by Honda dealers include the Marine Conservation Society’s Adopt A Beach campaign; Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust; CPRE Leicestershire; and Botanic Gardens Conservation International.

Richard Harrington, communications manager for the Marine Conservation Society, says: “It’s great news that Honda is becoming involved, and it’s proof of how well respected we are. We’re a UK national charity and we’re very happy to know that we’ll receive extra money to do our work.

“We have a lot of volunteers who freely give their time – it’s a pat on the back for them and shows we’re making a difference.”

As part of the campaign, the Portsmouth News has launched a dedicated microsite within its web site so you can see just how easy it is to sign up and do something for the community.

We can all do our bit to help the planet. Turning down the temperature on the washing machine, taking the TV off standby, turning the heating down a notch or two – there are a hundred different ways in which we can change our lives and make them greener.

Leeds, UK, September 25, 2009 — They might all be small steps, but every little bit really does help. Change comes when ordinary people act together. Our environment can’t look after itself – it needs every one of us to think, to engage where we can – to be just a little bit more generous and less selfless.

One way in which we can do this is by volunteering our services. When it comes to this sort of work, all of us have a role to play, and we can be of huge value. Volunteering is an exciting, empowering and rewarding thing to do for its own sake – and it usually helps others, and the planet, as well.

Do you have a bit of time to spare and fancy the idea of doing something to help others in a green cause? Many people do, but they’re not quite sure where to start. One excellent way is by logging on to do-it.org.uk – a site specially geared to helping people get involved with their local volunteering opportunities.

Launched in 2001, do-it.org.uk is the most diverse and comprehensive national database of volunteering opportunities in the UK. These are provided by more than 360 volunteer centres and more than 70 national charities.

The site contains masses of information on projects – it’s for you to decide which one or ones you want to become involved in. You can search within a certain area around your home or office and see what you fancy.

The great thing about this sort of work is that it’s flexible. You can choose to commit just an hour or two a week or less, or you can virtually end up full time. You can often claim out-of-pocket expenses back, and if you are on benefits, it doesn’t affect the payments you receive.

If for any reason it doesn’t work out, you can of course leave at any time. But you’re likely to find that you love what you do. You’ll gain experience, make new friends and have the satisfaction that you’re doing something to help other people and the planet.

The Yorkshire Post’s new campaign to get you out and volunteering comes after car giant Honda teamed up with do-it-org.uk. Honda is committed to doing whatever it can to improve the environment, and its recently-launched Insight hybrid car uses a combination of a petrol engine and a battery to dramatically improve fuel consumption and cut CO2 emissions. Each Honda dealership has nominated a charity, and for every person who test drives the new Insight, they’ll donate £5 to that nominated charity.

Why don’t you take a look now? Visit the Yorkshire Post’s new microsite at http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/custompages/customp… for volunteering opportunities in our area.

The Government’s last-minute changes to the Resource Management Act – released today – will hasten the chop for protected trees, despite public outcry and the Green Party’s efforts to negotiate a compromise.

“While the Greens have suggested slowing down controversial cuts to tree protection, National are hell bent on fast tracking changes. They are using urgency in Parliament and are moving an amendment that will remove tree protection almost immediately,” Green Party Co-Leader Russel Norman said today.

“Ring fencing tree protection – not the ring barking approach taken by the Government – is what’s needed. Sadly the Labour Party has decided to vote for this bill which weakens environmental protection.”

Trees bring a city to life, and are an important amenity for residents, but the Government seems intent on taking that away from the public, Dr Norman said.

The Resource Management (Streamlining and Simplifying) Amendment Bill will be debated under urgency in Parliament this week. Clause 52 of the Bill bans all general tree protection rules from 2012. Only trees specified in a Council’s plan will be protected.

In a last minute amendment, the Government will bring forward the removal of protection from trimming from three years away in 2012 to just three weeks away.

“The Government shows extreme arrogance by fast tracking removal of protection for our cities’ beautiful trees, allowing anyone to hack away at them from 1 October this year,” Dr Norman said.

The Green Party will table amendments today to protect Auckland’s trees, including compromise options and new ministerial powers to permit general rules protecting types of trees, i.e. all pohutukawa on the Auckland City coastline.

“Trees clean the air, provide a home for birds, and make cities like Auckland great places to live, work and play. Why on earth would we want to allow them to be axed?”

Aside from reducing tree protection, the bill also cuts environmental protection and community participation in a number of ways.

New Zealanders will have a chance to speak out against mining in their national parks, marine reserves and wildlife sanctuaries through a Green Party petition announced today.

The petition will ask the Government to halt any plans for mining New Zealand’s most highly-protected land and water.

“Kiwis who care about their natural treasures can tell the National Party that they don’t want mining in our most highly valued places,” Green Party Co-leader Metiria Turei said today.

The Government has announced plans to do a ‘stock take’ of the mineral deposits in public conservation areas currently protected from mining in Schedule 4 of the Crown Minerals Act. Schedule 4 areas include wildlife sanctuaries, national parks, marine reserves, and wetlands of international importance.

The Government has also instructed Crown Minerals officials to look at what areas should be taken out of Schedule 4 in order to open them up for mining.

“Even the economics of mining don’t add up,” Mrs Turei said. “The financial value of protected land is in the perpetual fresh water, flood protection and other ecoservices that far outweigh the one-off and environmentally-damaging mineral revenues.

“Mining would also risk thousands of Kiwi jobs that rely on our tourism industry.”

The national parks, reserves and sanctuaries were also part of New Zealanders’ heritage, Mrs Turei noted: “Thousands of Kiwis have invested countless volunteer hours and dollars to protect these places. That heritage should be passed on to our kids not destroyed for short term profit.”

Meanwhile, the Government’s search for coal and lignite was also out of step with the world’s shift to renewable energy sources, Mrs Turei said.

The US South has the largest pulp industry in the world and this industry has enjoyed low wood raw-material costs for a very long time. This trend continued in 2009, with wood chip and pulpwood costs that were substantially lower than global average costs, according to the Wood Resource Quarterly.

Seattle, USA, July 22, 2009 — Weak pulp markets and reduced demand for wood fiber resulted in lower costs for wood chips and pulpwood in practically all regions of North America in the 2Q/09. This is the fourth consecutive quarter that wood fiber prices have fallen, with the biggest reductions occurring in Western US and Western Canada. In the US South, which is the biggest wood fiber consumer in the world, pulpmills have only experienced minor downward price adjustments in recent months.

The wet spring in the US South resulted in reduced logging and many pulpmills have seen their log inventories fall to unusually low levels. Fortunately for timber buyers, demand for logs from sawmills, OSB mills and pulpmills has been lower than usual and there has not been much upward price pressure on logs so far this year. Many sawmills and OSB mills have chosen to reduce production rather than pay more for logs to be able to run at high operating rates. Pine pulpwood fell seven percent in the 2Q as compared to the previous quarter and the average hardwood pulpwood prices were down about 10%, as reported in the North American Wood Fiber Review.

In the 2Q/09, the Southeastern US (the Atlantic States) had the lowest conifer wood fiber prices in North America. This region has consistently had among the lowest wood costs in North America during the past 15 years. Currently, softwood pulp producers in the states of Georgia, North and South Carolina have some of the lowest wood fiber costs in the world, according to the Wood Resource Quarterly. This is one reason why there have been fewer pulpmill closures and less market related downtime in the Southeast as compared to regions with higher wood costs such as Eastern Canada, the Lake States and the US Northeast.

Softwood fiber prices in Southern US are currently almost 20% lower than the Global Average Softwood Price Index, while hardwood fiber prices are nearly 30% below the Global Average Hardwood Price Index. With no signs of a imminent improvement in the markets for lumber, pulp or paper, it is not expected that wood fiber costs will increase much, if at all, during the remainder of this year.

Global timber market reporting is included in the 50-page publication Wood Resource Quarterly. The report, established in 1988 and with readers in over 25 countries, tracks sawlog and pulpwood prices in most regions around the world and also includes regular updates of the latest developments in international timber, pulp, lumber and biomass markets.
