Holdens To Drive Down Property Taxes

Crippling Property Taxes Have Forced Local Businesses to Give Away New Holden Barinas to Elizabeth Park Home Buyers Who Settle Before June 30th. Lifestyle Property

“Tax increases of up to 500% have forced us to take these drastic measures. In all my 38 years in real estate, I’ve never seen a tax increase impact quite like this one. The only way to avoid a price increase is to sell up before the end of the financial year.” Says Patricia Hautop of Lifestyle Property Consultants. Local builders, car dealers, and real estate agents have joined with Fremont Estate residential estate to reduce property tax payable on 1st July. The result? A free New Holden Barina with every “Homestead Homes House and Land Package”, with land settlement before 30th June 2009.

Linda Bevan-Lewis, Executive Consultant at local builder Homestead Homes agrees, “we are trying to provide quality affordable housing, and property taxes are adding to the cost of new homes. We knew we had to do something to try and keep the costs down.”

“We chose a Barina because we wanted to support GMH. The future of Holdens and the northern suburbs are closely linked. When I approached Paul Page of Peter Page Holden to discuss the idea, his response was fantastic. What a great way to start life in your new home. It’s the perfect win-win situation. This is not the first time that this type of promotion has been used, but it is the first time that people in the affordable housing market have had access to this sort of offer. The recommended retail price of a new Holden Barina plus on road costs is around $17,400. If you add on the First Home Owners Grant, the savings are around $42,000 for first home buyers.” said Patricia Hautop.

“A lot of families and businesses are doing it tough in the northern suburbs at the moment. Some people may call giving away cars a gimmick, but least we’re rolling up our sleeves and giving the purchasers a far go. As long as the house and land package purchaser settles on the land before 30th June 2009, they can pick up the keys for their new Barina and their new home at the same time” Said Patricia Hautop.
